Vietnamese AI assistant wins at a top tech event in Asia

The Supernova Pitch Competition is a contest for startups held as part of Gitex Asia 2025, Asia’s largest technology and startup event, which took place last weekend in Singapore. Nomi, developed by Hanoi-based ADT Global, won first place in the Gitex Europe Award category, which selects outstanding products to take part in Supernova 100 at Gitex Europe 2025 in Germany in mid-May.
“Nomi winning the Gitex Europe Award is a catalyst and a launchpad that opens up strategic opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to reach the European and global markets,” said Mr. Vũ Quốc Huy, Director of the National Innovation Center (NIC). “It also sends a strong message about Vietnam’s technological capabilities, showing that Vietnamese technology companies are able to create innovative products that can compete fairly and win on major international stages, thereby enabling sustainable growth in the era of digital transformation.”
Nomi uses AI for smart personal finance management, automatically recording spending and offering advice to help users assess their finances and save effectively. Mr. Phạm Tiến Huy, Production Director of ADT Global, said Nomi was born after 15 months of research and development. “We have a team with deep experience in finance and technology, combined with leading large language models (LLMs),” Mr. Huy said. “However, building an AI system smart enough to understand and respond naturally to users’ finance-related questions and requests is quite complex, forcing us to keep testing and improving the model, while also ensuring privacy.”
Nomi currently uses GPT-4o and Gemini to process natural language, understand user intent, and generate personalized responses. Mr. Huy said that going forward, the app will improve its ability to predict and recommend financial actions based on behavior and personal goals, and will add financial analysis and reporting features and connections to domestic and international banks.

Gitex Asia 2025 in Singapore brought together more than 700 technology businesses and startups and more than 250 investors from over 60 countries. Vietnam took part under the leadership of NIC, with a Vietnam Pavilion booth.
The win by a Vietnamese smart virtual assistant at Asia’s leading technology event is a sharp demonstration of domestic R&D capability on the international stage. However, to turn the resonance of awards into a commercial advantage on a global scale, organizations need to establish a well-planned approach by standardizing how they take part in international AI exhibitions. This is the core foundation for domestic technology businesses to affirm quality standards, attract investment capital, and build networks of strategic partners.
